go and why you want to get there. ~Kofi Annan

The symbol of suburbia, Walmart. As I’m sitting in the car waiting for my cousin and her husband to get out the store, i took a moment to reflect. When my parents told me they were building a house in the poconos i was not pleased. Then when we officially moved in Fall ‘06, my displeasure only grew. It was terrible, and i missed being back in the city. I yearned for my life back. Through a couple years of pure anguish, and 1 year where it was decent, i moved back to the city at the end of summer in 2009. And it was/is great being in the city.
But every time i come out here now to visit, its..nice. I’ve really grown an appreciation for being out here in the burbs. Not like where i lived in new york before the move was shitty, had a house and it was a nice neighborhood full of other houses and stuff, so it wasn’t bad, but this is just all kinds of different. I love the air, its crisp and clean, and its a nice cool breeze at night, and its just refreshing. On occasion you can look out in the backyard and see wild turkey, or a family of deer walking through the grass into the woods, or the various birds that make their home in the trees. Its just all very calm and serene. As much as i love being in NY, its nice to get away for a couple days and decompress. In my old age I can understand the appeal of the Poconos, but i just can’t live here. It is nice though, but just in small doses.

Spent yesterday and today at the NY Public Library Main Branch with my girlfriend and her brother doing work. Took some pictures while I was there. Truly amazing building, amazing architecture, amazing detail, just everything about that place is amazing.

He sleeps like this often.

Simba says hi. He’s enthralled by what I’m holding in front of him just so he can stay still. He actually chilled out on the bed with us for a bit before he got bored and left to do hood rat shit.
